*A smile is just a smile, but a smile from the heart can change someone’s day. So smile like you mean it. You never know who you will have an impact on today*

I love this quote I got off facebook this morning.  I often go into the status shuffle and pick a quote or a funny little saying.  I admit some of them are just so disgusting that I frequently pass them by, but this one hit me this morning.

I like to smile, makes a day feel so good!  Yes, I have my down days, and quite a few of them I might add, but it makes my day when I see my girls smile even for fleeting second.  And it makes me feel extra special when I see my husband smile.  He has had some really hard times, and I do all I can to make him happy.  He’s a good man, deserves a whole lot better, but he’s getting better. We’ve had 27 years together and things are good.

Anyway…smiling is good for all of us, young and old, big and small. So smile a little smile or a big smile, it’ll really make you feel good and you will make another, who may or may not be having a good day, feel so much better!

I think I’ve written about this before. Inspiration. If so, I guess it bears repeating. So bear with me if it sounds familiar, it’s just me,  Just where does it come from and what  can we do with it?

Good question. Inspiration comes from all kinds of sources.  You can find inspiration for writing in blogs (yeah that’s why I write here) or writing for blogs, stories, tv shows, nature, or life itself.  I need inspiration, sometimes, to cook something new or to start a new project.  I get inspired by watching people do everyday things like shopping, walking the dog, or just chatting to someone.  Chatting to someone about how they do the laundry, or pay the bills, inspires me to do things differently then I normally do them.  Inspiration comes in all sizes and shapes.  Just look it’s there somewhere, maybe hiding under a rock, a bridge, or even…gasp…under the bed with the dust bunnies (oh..maybe that’s where all the plot bunnies went too!)

This blog was inspired by a friend who just mentioned the word inspiration…hmmmm…see where it got me? It inspired me to post!  Maybe…just maybe…I’ve inspired something in you?

30 years ago today, Terry Fox dipped his artificial leg in to the Atlantic Ocean to start his Marathon of Hope. Who knew that today, his run, his dream would still be going. His run for cancer ended sadly in Thunder Bay, Ontario when the cancer that claimed his leg, grew in his lung, and ultimately claimed his life. Every year since then, the legacy grew and the money goes to research to the research for cancer.  His family, who come from Vancouver, are still very active in the marathon. Every September, people from all over Canada and many parts of the world take part in the marathon to raise more money.  What started as awareness with one man with a dream is now a legacy, and a hero to all of us.  Please remember this man, and his dream of 30 years ago.  Terry Fox, you’re dream is still alive, I know you’re smiling down at your legacy. :>)

Are people really that hard to please?  I was looking over my last post and trying hard to think of something positive, but my goodness!  There are some people who are so hard to please. You bend over backwards, do everything they ask and bam! they still find a way to poke and prod you in your weakest spots.  I guess my positive thought is…they live an unhappy life and just need to take it out on others. I’m generally a happy person but why must people demand more than what we have to give?  Why must a person make people around them as unhappy as they are?

So here is my positive thought for today.  I am a happy person and will do my best to make people around me happy.  Yep. I’ll forget about it for now, and carry on with my day.  Think positive, act positive and things will go as planned!  🙂

Positive Thoughts

The love in our lives begins with us. ♥ “I love myself; therefore, I behave and think in a loving way to all people for I know that that which I give out returns to me multiplied. I only attract loving people in my world, for …they are a mirror of what I am.” Louise L. Hay

I found this today from one of my favorite inspirationalists.  I believe in the power of positive thinking. This is how I go through my day. I usually try to think one positive thought each day and it helps. When things seem not to go the way I want them, I often look on the other side of the coin, and find something good out of it.  I look for positive people to fulfill that hole I seem to have and help me through the tough times.  We had an exceptionally bad year this year, financially and emotionally, but without positive thinking, we could be worse off than we are.  But we’re not, we got out luckily, with more than we thought, and we’re a lot happier.  Whenever I’m feeling down, I think of the worst thing possible and be glad I’m not there.  Positive thinking…We all need to do that every day. Things could be worse..yes they could!  :>)
